There’s a fire over there
Feel the heat in the air
Can’t see through the smoke
Try to breathe but only choke
Dust on tongue, tears in eye
Orange glow filling the sky
Ash is heavy in my nose
Hair singes as wind blows
Engines thunder through the vail
Sirens distant, hear them wail
People running from their homes
Belongings left beside the road
Bending iron, climbing walls
Charing pavement as it crawls
Water rushing from a hose
Flame persisting barely slows
There’s a fire on the top of the hill burning down the side
Try to cover up but you can’t hide
No telling where it goes
How to stop it no one knows
There’s a fire over there
It’s going to spread to everywhere
